How It Started

A BAD MOVE THAT SPARKED A GREAT ONE

In 2010, our founder Sam Armstrong hired a moving company to relocate his family across Orlando. The movers were three hours late, broke two pieces of furniture, and charged $400 more than the original quote.

Sam was furious — but more importantly, he was motivated. He bought two used trucks, hired three guys he trusted, and launched Zoo Haul right here in Orlando with a single promise: treat every customer's stuff like it's your own.

The giraffe logo? That's Sam's daughter's idea. She said giraffes have a long neck to reach the high-up things — just like Zoo Haul reaches the parts of moving that other companies ignore. That mascot stuck, and so did the attitude.

2010

Sam Armstrong starts Zoo Haul with 2 trucks and a giraffe logo out of his garage in Orlando, FL.

2013

Expanded to 5 trucks. Launched packing services. Hit 1,000 completed moves across Central Florida.

2016

Went nationwide. Added long-distance and commercial services. 15 trucks strong.

2018

Opened first storage facility partnership. Named 'Top Mover in Orlando' by Orlando Weekly.

2020

2022

Hit 30,000 completed moves. Launched GPS tracking and real-time customer updates.

2026

After 16 years of building something we're proud of, it's time to share it. Zoo Haul officially launched franchise opportunities — bringing the MORGIE Promise to new territories and new communities across the country.
